GDPR

If you are a member of IEEE, you should have already received a notice requesting your acceptance of the updated IEEE privacy policies impacted by the new GDPR* (to review the new IEEE privacy policy, please see: www.ieee.org/security-privacy.html.).

The PCIC and our parent organizations, the IEEE and IAS, all have a global presence, so this applies to our organizations, our members, and all those that participate in any of our activities. IEEE has developed a system to share their opt-in responses with PCIC, however this information has not been integrated into our system. Also, any past/potential attendees that are not a member of IEEE would not have the option of opting in at that level. Initiating the registration process for all future PCIC Conferences will require your acceptance of IEEE privacy policies and to “opt-in” for electronic communications regarding this year’s Conference** in San Antonio, even if you have already responded to the IEEE request.

We apologize in advance for multiple requests expected to address these same policies, but ask your patience as we work through the new IEEE and global privacy policies.

Notes:

* The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the European-wide regulation that mandates the protection of data for people living in and/or that are from the European Union. This will impact every organization that processes data on these populations, regardless of where that organization is located, and went into effect on May 25, 2018.

** The “Opt-in” action will be captured on www.ieeepcic.com and/or the PCIC Conference website for those not registering for the 2021 PCIC Conference but who still wish to receive future communications from PCIC. Note you’ll be able to “unsubscribe” at any time, if so desired.
