PCIC Award Nomination and Selection Procedure

Purpose:

To recognize those active in the PCIC for outstanding dedication and contributions made to advance and accelerate the dispersion of information and knowledge impacting electrical safety through activities within the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee.

Nominated by (PCIC Subcommittee): PCIC Safety Subcommittee, Approved by A&A

Selection Criteria:

1. Outstanding dedication and contributions made to advance and accelerate the dispersion of information and knowledge impacting electrical safety through activities within PCIC.

Restrictions:

1. Previous recipients not eligible

Type of Award (Plaque, Framed Certificate):

1. Engraved plaque provided by Awards Nominating Subcommittee
2. Award recipient and guest(s) are invited to sit at the designated award recipient tables
3. Award recipient may request additional guest tickets to attend the PCIC Conference Annual Awards Luncheon

Presentation: PCIC Conference Annual Awards Luncheon by the Safety Subcommittee Chair.

Award Recipient Acceptance Speech: None

Nominating Committee Members:

1. Safety Subcommittee chair shall appoint, the Nomination Task Group consisting of the Safety Subcommittee Officers and the previous 3-5 Safety Excellence Award recipients.

Nomination & Selection Process:

1. Safety Subcommittee Chair shall solicit for nominations at conclusion of PCIC Conference for next year award.
   1. Update Awards Subcommittee website for Safety Excellence Awards with current year information.
   2. Send email to Safety Subcommittee personnel.
   3. A person may receive the award only once.
2. Safety Subcommittee officers review nominations and select a top candidate.
   1. Previous year nominations of non-award recipients are not considered.
   2. Send email to nominators of previous year unsuccessful candidates to specifically encourage them to nominate their candidate again.
   3. Ensure candidate has not previously won the award.
3. Safety Subcommittee Chair reports the recommended candidates to the Advisory & Awards Subcommittee Chair and copy PCIC Chair and Awards Nominating Subcommittee Chair before the PCIC Winter Meeting. Make sure to include names of other candidates nominated. Include nomination forms and any supporting documentation.
4. The Advisory & Awards Subcommittee selects and approves the final award recipient at its meeting during the annual Winter Meeting.
5. The Advisory & Awards Subcommittee Chair will announce award recipients at the PCIC Executive Subcommittee meeting at the annual Winter Meeting.

Advisory & Awards (A&A) Subcommittee Chair, PCIC Chair and Awards Nominating Subcommittee Chair prior to the PCIC Annual Winter Meeting

How will award recipient be notified:

The PCIC Safety Subcommittee Chair will notify the successful candidate, after approval by the Advisory & Awards Subcommittee via email and personal contact/phone call.
